Statement

There is no nonvanishing vector field on $S^{2n}$.

Proof

The proof uses another crucial result: there is no continuous $f:S^{2n}\to S^{2n}$ such that $x$ and $f(x)$ are orthogonal for every $x\in S^{2n}$.
