Characterization of beginners

Most beginners to topology are people doing a first course in point set-topology. They may have had some prior, but not much, exposure to ideas from point set-topology in preliminary undergraduate analysis or calculus courses.

Apart from people starting out with a formal course, beginners may also include people from other disciplines who want an overview of point set-topology. We are trying to develop separate usertypes for them. (also check out usertype:AT beginner).
